Drive-up Early Voting
During early voting at auditor’s office, they will send someone out to the car to help a voter that can’t come into the office. Call them in advance to let them know you are coming: 319-642-3923

ID REQUIRED FOR EARLY VOTING
A government issued photo ID with expiration date is required such as:
- Iowa Driver’s License
- Iowa Non-Operator ID
- Iowa Voter Identification Card (with PIN)
- U.S. Military ID or Veteran ID
- U.S. Passport
- Tribal ID Card/Document
Check your registration status
You can register and vote early at the same time
If your ID doesn’t show your current address, you’ll need to provide proof of your address. The proof (paper or electronic) must have your name, your address, and be valid within the last 45 days, such as:
- Residential lease
- Utility bill
- Cell phone bill
- Bank statement
- Paycheck
- Other government document
The deadline has passed for submitting an absentee ballot request. Please plan on voting in person.
RETURN YOUR BALLOT
IT’S TOO LATE TO RETURN YOUR BALLOT BY US MAIL: As of Nov 4, it is recommended to return your ballot by hand due to possible postal delays.
If you still have an unmailed ballot here is what to do:
On Nov 4 do one of the following:
- Hand the ballot to the Auditor’s Office staff
- Ask a relative to return your ballot
- Call the Auditor’s Office for help
On Nov 5, Election Day, do one of the following:
- Hand the ballot to the Auditor’s Office staff no later than 8pm, Nov 5
- Bring your unmailed ballot to your polling place. Poll workers will take that unsent ballot and then allow you to vote with a fresh ballot. To find your polling place go to iwillvote.com

Assistance in voting at the polls
Any voter who requires assistance in voting may bring someone with them to assist, or two poll workers from different political parties will be glad to assist you as needed.
